Just never pay for premium on a burner account. If it gets banned, no big deal as I wasn't using a burner account to listen on. I plan on making burner accounts with temp emails and only using Sidify once I've acquired a good number of songs, like once a month or so on a burner account. Sidify customer service replied to thei complaints they were getting on a review site about their accounts getting banned and someone suggested this also, but Sidify said it doesn't work like that, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
Nonetheless, if WASAPI is inexclusive and/or your DS loopback is on, that is a dead giveaway, and if a commonly (ab)used app is running to record. They would therefore be able to detect if Audacity or any other app was running, though no way to detect if it was recording. Therefore, this means it has full view of other processes running on your system. Third, Spotify specifically launches multiple processes that can not be isolated, else it breaks.
Further, as soon as you "open" this device for recording, Spotify too can see this, and could stop playing music if it wanted to.
Second, if you use DirectSound and your audio driver has a loopback / "Stereo Mix" mode available, that is also visible to Spotify in the list of available DirectSound devices and will show as enabled for their app just as it would any other app. Spotify cannot detect that it is being actively recorded, but can see that you are (almost certainly) misbehaving.įirst, if you're using WASAPI - the Windows default audio engine - then the outputting application (Spotify) is unable to obtain exclusivity.
